Former American wonderkid of Ghanaian descent Freddy Adu has signed for Finnish top-flight side KuPS on a one-year-contract, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Once touted as the next big thing, Adu will play football professional in his eighth country after flopping almost everywhere he’s played.

KuPS confirmed on Friday they have signed the 25-year-old former Benfica player who was last reported to be hosting night clubs.

He will join former Asante Kotoko defender Gideon Baah who is with champions HJK Helsinki.

Finland’s league season is set to commence in two weeks time and KuPS will be looking to build upon their 7th placed finish in each of the past two seasons.

Unattached since being released by Jagodina in December, the deal with KuPS will go through once Freddy Adu passes his medical.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Monaco and Benfica are just two of Adu’s previous clubs.
