In-form Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is not worried he was overlooked for the Brazil 2014 World Cup playoff first leg against Egypt.
The 20-year-old has found his scoring boots in the Spanish La Liga after netting two goals in five appearances.
Boakye is on loan from Juventus and has done enough to convince all about his scoring prowess.
He grabbed the headlines when he scored a brilliant header against Real Madrid to level the scores for his side but conceded a late penalty to lose 2-1.
Boakye played in the June’s double-header against Sudan and Lesotho but was not invited for last month’s final Group D qualifier against Zambia.
“I had opportunity in the past which I exploited,” he said.
“Four other Ghana strikers made the squad ahead of me so I only need to continue to work hard to win a place in the team,”
“We have to understand that coach Kwesi Appiah monitored the performance of every player and know the best 25 available.”
Boakye added: “I’m 100% sure he (Kwesi Appiah) called up a competent 25-man team capable of beating Egypt.”
