Foreign-based Ghanaian stars hit town for Christmas break
Sulley Muntari is likely to travel to Ghana for the Christmas break

Foreign-based Ghanaian stars have started arriving in town for the Christmas holidays.

AC Milan star Sulley Muntari is likely to be seen back home in Ghana but there are slimmer chances of seeing Kevin-Prince Boateng and Chelsea star Michael Essien in Ghana.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Kwadwo Asamoah, Alfred Duncan, Raman Chibsah, Ahmed Barusso and Amidu Salifu as well as Maxwell Acosty - all Italian-based, are expected in town next week.

However youngsters Isaac Donkor, Samuel Appiah, Justice Opoku and Francis Boateng all of Inter Milan, Kingsley Boateng, Mase Nana Addo, Isaac Ntow, Emmanuel Gyasi and Said Ahmed all born in Italy are not expected to travel to the West African country.

Holland-based trio of Matthew Amoah, Kwame Quansah and Shadrach Eghan are expected to be involved in charity works while on break.

Arriving from France will be defenders Jonathan Mensah and John Boye.

Dutch-borns Johan Kappelhof, Kodjo Amevor, Kevin Tete, Mitch Apau, Jonathan Opoku and Leroy Owusu who plays for Ajax Amsterdam are also not expected to be in Ghana.

Espanyol's Paul Quaye, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, Fatau Mohammed, Ghana youth international Michael Anaba, Clifford Aboagye, Thomas Partey, Isaac Appiah, Isaac Asare, Otuo Acheampong and Ishmael Antwi (all Atletico Madrid players) will also celebrate the christmas in Ghana after their league go on break on 22nd December.

An English contingent which includes Chelsea star Michael Essien, Emmanuel Frimpong, Derek Boateng, Albert Adomah and Koby Arthur who plays for Birmingham City are unlikely to make the trip home since there is no Christmas break for the English leagues.

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris who is currently in Sweden will be on holidays in Ghana next week.

Scandinavian-based players including those in Norway and Sweden who completed their league season last month were the first to arrive in town.

Norwegian-based defender Razak Nuhu and Bismark Adjei-Boateng who won the Eliteserien title with Stromsgodset arrived in town last week.

However goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey who has his family in Oslo might not travel down to Ghana for the Christmas break.

Former Hearts of Oak defender Mahatma Otoo, King Osei-Gyan, Gilbert Koomson and Ernest Asante who plays for IK Start are all in town.

Swiss-based duo Ishmael Yartey and Ebenezer Assifuah arrived on Monday night while Samuel Afum will arrive at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday evening.
