Beleaguered Hearts coach Mohammed Polo has issued a groveling apology to the club’s fans following a tirade at those who questioned his credibility to lead the team.

The iconic Hearts figure went banana-crazy last Wednesday following intense criticism over his ability to lead the former African champions after they slumped to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against All Stars at home.

He wasted no time in defending his coaching credential by lambasting the supporters who have been unanimous in their call for his dismissal.

Polo has eaten humble pie and issued a groveling apology to the fans upon reflection.

“I am human and bound to make mistakes. I think on the spur of the moment, I got angry and went above board and so I want to sincerely apologise to the fans,” Polo told Happy FM

“At that moment, I was under pressure and so I admit I was wrong. They (fans) should find a place in their hearts to forgive me.

“I never intended to disrespect them. They should rally behind the team that we all love so much.

“I will urge them to let by-gone be by-gone so we can forge ahead and look into the future with hope.”

Polo has come under massive pressure to quit the club as the title ambitions of the Ghanaian side slips through their fingers.

They travel to Dorma to face Aduana Stars in their next First Capital Premier League.
