Italian Serie A side Fiorentina have loaned out Ghanaian youth international midfielder Amidu Salifu to Modena on a season-long loan deal.

The Serie B side secured the 21-year-old who spent the entire 2012/13 season at Catania after he was declared surplus to requirement by La Viola.

Amidu managed just a handful of top flight appearances in the Italian top division at Catania but is somehow guaranteed some regular playing time in the second-tier league.

He is the second player to play for La Canarini after Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored 15 goals in 53 games between 2004 and 2006.

The former Ghana U20 midfielder played his debut game for the club on Tuesday when they won 7-0 over Formigine, a club from the Serie D.
