FIFA President Blatter has written to Kwesi Nyantakyi, the President of theà Ghanaà FA, to express his ââ¬Ësadness and distressââ¬â¢ upon hearing the death of referee Kyei Andoh who was apparently attacked by fans during a match last weekend.
According to reports, the assistant referee suffered severe injuries after he was beaten up during a match between Gold Stars and Naa Joe United in Bordie.
He was regarded as one of the countryââ¬â¢s most promising up and coming referees and was highly respected by his peers.
The FIFA President wrote: ââ¬ÅFootball is a mirror of society and sadly, the same ills that afflict society, in this case violence, also manifest themselves in our game. Nevertheless, I remain convinced that football is a force for good and we must continue use its positive example to educate people against these wrongs.
