FIFA agent Oliver Arthur has praised the Ghana Football Association IT department for working round the clock in the transfer of Derrick Appiah to Monaco on deadline day.

The deal was signed one hour before the January transfer window was closed on the midnight of last Thursday.

Arthur praised the Francis Adu Essah, who operates the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) at the Ghana FA, for staying in office late to ensure the deal was successful.

"In Ghana, we have no such culture as transfer deadline day so all clubs have their secretariats closed after 5pm but this case was different," Arthur, who runs ArthurLegacy Agency in Ghana said.

"Even in the face of power cuts in Ghana, the manager stayed up late into the night to ensure the deal went through.

"And his club Amidaus Professionals and owner Ahmed Gambo were professionals to ensure he negotiations were finished before the midnight deadline.

"In Europe, clubs do overtime to ensure deals are clinched on this day. For me it was an eye opener because I'm afraid some Ghanaian might miss out on deals if the system is not improved."

Arthur's client includes Juventus owned teenager Richmond Boakye-Yiadom who is with Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He has transferred over a score youngster to Europe especially Italy in the last seven years.

Appiah, 18, signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the French Ligue 2 side for an undisclosed fee from Ghana Premier League side Amidaus Professionals.
