Kevin-Prince Boateng has accused Ghana fans of labeling him ‘Boko Haram’ and says he has no regrets over letting Ghana down at the 2014 World Cup.

The 27-year-old is still speaking about his sacking from the Ghana camp in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup and his latest interview has claimed Ghana fans labelled him a boko haram and he holds no regrets over his behaviour.

“I’m happy I let down the people of Ghana at the world cup. Can you imagine some even called me Boko Haram? Really Boko Haram? It was always my dream to play at the world cup, the door with Germany was closed,” he claimed.

The Schalke 04 midfielder along with AC Milan’s Sulley Muntari were axed from the camp ahead of the FIFA World Cup game with Portugal for various acts of violence.

Boateng was talked out of international retirement to play for Ghana at the World Cup. However his performance in the games he featured for the West Africans left many home fans disappointed.

Yet he claims the Black Stars needed him not the other way round.

Ghana needed me badly, so I availed myself only for the fans to under-appreciate my contributions to the team. For that, I am very happy, some think I let down the country. Mark my words, I will do it again when I am called back into the team,” he added.

Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have been prompted to approach former Ghana striker Prince Tagoe after he failed to show up at the club’s training grounds on Monday afternoon.

The 27-year-old former TSG Hoffenheim man was expected at the club’s ATTC training grounds on Monday along with Ivorian Ahmed Toure but massive fans who turned up could not see him train with the Phobians.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands Hearts officials will move quickly to open talks with the striker over a possible return to the club.

Tagoe is a free agent after ending his contract with Malaysian outfit FC Kelanta and was linked with a return to the Gulf. However he would consider playing on the local front if Hearts approach him.

Hearts coach Herbert Addo gave an indication he needs a new striker after he lashed out at the lackluster display from his front-men in their loss to Heart of Lions in the GHALCA top-four opener on Sunday.

Ivorian Ahmed Toure who played for Hearts’ rivals Kotoko four seasons ago, trained with Hearts on Monday evening.

German-born Ghanaian attacker Karim Bellarabi has hailed his fantastic volley for Bayer Leverkusen in their 4-2 triumph over Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga over the weekend and says Bayer are ‘clicking’ in the early season.

The 24-year-old capped a brace fightback from Leverkusen with a slamming acrobatic volley from 20-yards after setting up the third goal at the BayArena.

“Well, Hakan Calhanoglu’s cross was absolutely perfect. But yeah, when you’ve got this growing sense of self-confidence, you back yourself to take on the shot. Obviously, sometimes a shot like that can fly over the bar, but thankfully in this case it just nestled in the corner. It was a perfect strike against Hertha Berlin,” he told Bundesliga.com.

The former Hull City target is also delighted with Leverkusen’s form in the early stages of the Bundesliga season.

“We’re just really clicking as a team. When you’re being given such trust and confidence from the coach [Roger Schmidt], it gives you so much self-belief on the pitch.”

Italian Serie A side Atalanta have sent Ghanaian youth international midfielder Mase Nana Addo Welbeck on loan to Slovenian side NK Krka, the club has confirmed.

Atalanta signed the 19-year-old from Serie B outfit Brescia but have quickly loaned him out to the SNL league side to enable him gain enough first team experience.

Nana Addo was mainly unused at Brescia and he managed just under five games last season and was hoping to weave his way into the Atalanta first team squad but as it stands now, he must first improve his game stats with the Slovenian side.

Ghanaian striker John Antwi swooped the Egyptian Premier League 2013/14 Golden Shoe Award at the league’s award gala after outshining other strikers during the league season.

The 21-year-old netted 11 times in 14 games for Ismaily SC to win the award.

“Egyptian League Top Scorer 2013/2014. Glory be to GOD,” the striker who had a short spell with Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak four seasons ago posted on his official Facebook account.

Antwi beat Khaled Kamar of Shorta who netted 10 times at the end of the regular season divided into two groups of 11 teams each of which the top two in each section qualified for the championship round of four teams in round robin format to determine the Egyptian champions.

Despite being hit with a five match suspension during the league season, Antwi still maintained his form in the league and could not be overtaken.

Impressively, only one of his goals came from the penalty spot as he improved his scoring records from last season’s five to 11 in the season that won him the award.

Newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side B/A United continued their pre-season with a 2-0 over Elima Sharks on Monday.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwabena Dodzi cemented the victory in the second-half after Gideon Awuni had opened the scoring in the first-half.

Frimpong-Manso’s side looked to have maintained their form from the Middle League Play-Offs as they displayed enough cohesion and understanding to  outplay Sharks.

B/A United returned to the Ghanaian top-flight after spending close to eight seasons in the wilderness.
