Nana Akwasi Asare, right, suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday
Dutch Eredisivie side FC Utrecht could be without their Ghanaian captain Nana Akwasi Asare for three weeks after he suffered a hamstring injury in their 1-1 stalemate at NAC Breda on Saturday, Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm.
The 26-year-old former KV Mechelen left-back was forced out of the game on the 38th minute mark after sustaining the injury from a challenge.
Nana Asare handed the armband to team-mate Jan Wuytens and joined the Utrecht bench.
He underlined his impressive form for Utrecht after sending a powerful left-footed drive on the 12th minute mark which was stopped by NAC keeper Ten Rouwelaar.
Asare, a former Fetteh Feyenoord Academy graduate is capped six times by Ghana.
