Nitra coach has explained John Mensah decision

FC Nitra coach Ladislav Hudec has explained his decision to replace former Ghana captain John Mensah in their 2-1 home defeat to Slovan Bratislava in the Slovakian Super Liga on Monday.

The 31-year-old former Black Stars captain was replaced just before the start of the second-half at the Ã… tadión pod Zoborom when Nitra slipped to a painful home loss.

Hudec explains he replaced the former Sunderland defender due to tiredness and lack of competition playing time for close to 12 months.

"Mensah was tired in the first-half and was obviously tired so we had to rotate and change him. However, when he is 100% fit, we will have a lot from him as he is a promising talent," he said after the game.

Mensah had not seen competitive action since leaving French side Stade Rennes last May.
