Fatau Dauda finding first team football difficult to come by at Orlando Pirates

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda remained on the Orlando Pirates bench despite the departure of Roger De Sa in the 2-1 win over Bidvest Wits on Tuesday.

Interim coach Eric Tinkler kept faith with the team that beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 at home last week.

Senzo Meyiwa remained at post despite conceding 10 goals in his last eleven games, while Dauda continues to warm the bench.

There was a huge expectation for Fatau Dauda to get precious game time following the resignation of roger De Sa who refused to play the Ghana international during his reign.

The status quo has surprisingly remained despite the poor form of Meyiwa.

Club officials managed to convince the former AshantiGold shot-stopper off the idea of going on loan to get precious game time with a few months to the 2014 World Cup.

Officials maintain Dauda is key to their plans but their words are not backed by action by giving him the needed opportunities on the field of play.

I predicted this last week. Dude will not keep this year Hhmm what a disgrace to a nation like Ghana. Only AA and his corrupted bosses will call this juju using dauda to national team. Something Nigeria will never do. Keshi it’s my man and I trust him because he don’t take bribes from players and their whack juju doesn’t work on him. A blessed child off God.
Juju will kill dauda one day. And corruption will kill AA and the GFA one day. Nkwasiafo
    Bless

  2. Jaja says:

So on what basis exactly does he earn an automatic world cup ticket? Shouldn’t the world cup be for active goalkeepers only like Kwarasey, Agyei and Adams?

  3. FIFTY,amstrdam says:

Masa, simple n shot, the guy is not good ooooo tin ton. Why oh why?Olele is better than him.

  4. keith from germany says:

So long as dauda lion aint getting playing time with the sea robbers, then he has no buisiness to search in the black stars.
There is a conspiracy against kawarasey.
Look at the other african teams going to the wc,all their goalkeepers are active first team starters with their respective teams.
1.cameroons keeper Itandje is numbet keeper of turkish side konyaspor.
2.Algerias M’bohli is number keeper of bulgarian top side levski sofia.
3.ivory coast copa barry is with belgian jupiler league side
    Lokeren.
4.Nigerias keeper Vincent Enyeama who to me is now among the top ten keepers of the world,is with french side lille.
All the other from these african WC representatives all hav active goalies but instead of AA featuring kwarasey ,a norwegian league champion n best keeper of norway or even daniel agyei,he chooses inactive, jittery n confused dauda who hasnt taste club football for 7 months.
I dont understand this kind of thing.
Eventhough we hav good keepers,AA is making ghana look like they dont posses good keepers.
    AA wake up.

    • spellBOUND says:

its too simple, the COMMUNICATION barrier is killing the technical team…… if Dujkovic can coach ghana to the mundial in 2006 with his limited english, how is that kwaresay who speaks good english is on the bench…. masa the technical bench CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH….. aaaaaaaah, fire them all….

  5. ZG GH4LIFE says:

Some of yall on this website need anger management programs in your lives, first of all you hate this guy for nothing, what has he ever done to any of you, and second the world cup squad has not been named yet so why all this insults, was he not the goalkeeper in the post during the qualifiers, now that we have qualified he is not good anymore. God forgive you all.

    • spellBOUND says:

ur right i like papadinho, but he’s a different matter. he’s dauda’s # 1 enemy, so i leave him be…. the insults and complaints however should be direct towards AA and the technical bench for going back on his word to field inactive players…

for me at least, the hate also stems from the fact that kwaresay has shown nothing but loyalty, and seems to being punished by no fault of his own. surely he deserves another chance… does he not?

  6. B.S4LIFE,boston says:

Guys take it easy on dauda coz all the guy wanna do is to render his services to mother ghana…i don’t think it is very wise for us to continue bashing him with insult and curses but rather we should unleash our anger on AA and his technical men to do the right thing and stop favouritism and bribery. The question AA should answer to us is;,how come he always prefer dauda to kwarasey whereby he made all of us aware that only active players will be considered for selection? So now AA tell us dauda and kwarasey who is more active in their various clubs?

  7. keith from germany says:

Bro ZG GH4LIFE nobody is hating on dauda.
If dauda is getting playin time at club level n doing well,i will be the first to back dauda to be our number one.
A year ago durin the Afcon in south africa dauda was inform becuz he was active at clublevel and made some excellent saves during that tournament but that cant be said of him since he joined the “sea robbers”.
Bro will you be happy to see a third choice keeper manning the post at the expense of regular keepers who are playing regularly at club level?
Your guess is good as mine.
I critic constructively and praise where praise is due.
But at the look of things kwesi appiah is willing to take inactive Dauda to the WC at all cost at the expense of active keepers.
Remember at the WC you are not playing lesotho, sudan or zambia but rather usa, good old germany and portugal.
    Hmmmmm we are watching proceedings

  8. Kofi(Atlanta) says:

ZG GH4lIFE, even though I don’t connive ant sort of insult that you seems to be suggesting, your facts are not accurate. Yes was the No.1 towards the end of the qualifier but Kwerasay played more games than him

  9. doom and gloom sayer says:

I see him conceding goals a lot at the World Cup
