Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda trained for the first time with his AshantiGold teammates on Tuesday following his return to the Ghanaian top flight.

The 29-year-old has rejoined the Miners on a one-year deal after terminating his contract with South African club Chippa United.

Dauda left AshGold only last year to join Orlando Pirates having excelled with Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He however struggled to command a first team place at the South African giants – leading to a move to Chippa United.

Dauda however terminated the contract just within two months of joining the side over claims of unpaid wages.

He has thus returned to his former club to maintain his competitive edge and fitness levels.

The ex Okwawu United man arrived in Obuasi earlier on on Tuesday and joined up with his club mates for the evening’s session.

He will be going head-to-head with Robert Dabuo for the first choice position at AshGold when the new Premier League starts at a date not yet known.
