Kofi Asare Brako failed in his bid to win the Akim Oda Parliamentary seat
Ace Sports Journalist Kofi Asare-Brako suffered a humiliating defeat in his quest to win the Akim Oda Constituency parliamentary seat.
The seasoned broadcast Journalist who contested as an Independent candidate could only poll a sorry 278 representing 0.92% of the ballot cast.
Brako, popularly referred to as ‘Abatay’ resigned from Multimedia Group Limited to contest the seat.
But his dream was crushed as he failed to garner the needed votes to represent the people of Akim Oda in the legislature.
New Patriotic Party’s William Agyapong Quaitoo retained his seat after he polled 18,982 representing 62.74% while the National Democratic Congress’ Kwabena Asare Nkansah polled 6,315.
If Kofi Asare Brako is famous then how would describe Ken Bediako,Joe Aggrey etc please the right adjective should be popular not famous be serious when putting stories on the website.
Kwaku,I do not see anything wrong with the use of ‘famous’ to describe Abatay. I do not also think Ken Bediako and Joe Aggrey can be termed as famous in recent times. How many people on this forum know of Ken Bediako? Joe Aggrey is well known in modern times more than Ken Bediako by virtue of being a former Youth and Sports Minister in the Kufour government. I can confidently say without a shadow of doubt that Abatay is well known in modern circles than the two you mentioned and sought to compare.I am tempted to believe that you were comparing their professional competence to that of Abatay. In that sense, your choice of famous in that comparison is wrong. Please come again on that.I have no doubt about the popularity of Joe Aggrey and Ken Bediako in their era,but ask yourself how many people know of that in modern times. The use of ‘FAMOUS’ by the writer to describe ABATAY is not wrong in my opinion.Perhaps you can do us the honour by telling us what is wrong with using that adjective in this respect. Joe Aggrey and Ken Bediako were famous in their time, but that does not take away the undeniable fact that ABATAY is popular in this era of sports journalism.
Better luck to Abatay next time.He gains my respect by taking that decision to try his ‘luck’ when it was pretty obvious to most of us that he would not win due to the fact that, that seat was a stronghold of the opposition NPP.He tried to remain neutral and devoid of any party affiliation by going as an Independent Candidate. He is a bold man by undertaking that venture. His chances will be brighter if he aligned himself to one of the two main parties, which i doubt he will do.I will not be surprised if he eventually attains a top political position in the near future.I congratulate him for that desire to try and fail, rather than not trying at all.He will gain more experience from this for his life in the future. He gains my respect.I salute Abatay.
I thing he praise him too much, credit himself with every good thing he say. me, me, me, me, me and I, I, I, I that how he always sound. You cant be a leader with that attitude.
