Falcons coach praises Desailly for Sports Complex project

Super Falcons coach Kadiri Ikhana has praised Marcel Desailly for investing in a Sports Complex project he describes as “world class.”

The Lizzy Sports Complex is complete with accommodation and training facilities for teams.

It has four top quality grass pitches, five changing rooms, semi-Olympic size swimming pool, a kiddie pool, a gym, a sports cafe and a pool bar.

Ikhana is leading a 23-man squad to camp at the complex for one week before flying to Equatorial Guinea for the 2012 African Women’s Championship.

He is satisfied with what he saw in the centre and showered praise on Desailly whom he described as “a genius of his time.”

”The facility is fantastic. This is the first of its kind from a footballer in Africa. I am greatly impressed,” Ikhana is quoted by the Nigerian Guardian.

“I am glad the Nigeria Football Federation chose this sports center for our training camp. I am very happy with the facilities available to us.

“The campsite is built to standard and we will maximize the week we have and prepare ourselves adequately for the AWC.”

Nigeria’s Super Falcons want to defend the title they won in South Africa two years ago.
