EXCLUSIVE: Yaw Frimpong replaces Daniel Opare in Ghana squad for 2015 AFCON qualifiers

GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report that TP Mazembe defender Yaw Frimpong has been called up to replaced injured Daniel Opare in Ghana’s squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former Asante Kotoko right-back has been consist for the Ravens who have qualified to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

Opare has been battling with injuries since making a switch from Standard Liege to Portuguese giants FC Porto this transfer window.

Frimpong’s recent call-up was in March last year when he was named in the 24-man squad which played Sudan in Kumasi in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Ghana will play Uganda on 05 September in their opening qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium and travel to Lome to face Togo five days later.
