Samuel Inkoom

Samuel Inkoom has already been to two World Cups with Ghana and the D.C United's newest signing spoke briefly with the club's official website.

How have your first impressions been with D.C. United? Samuel Inkoom: So far, so good. D.C. United for me is a very professional team. They do everything professionally. The coach the players, everybody, I’m so happy to be here.

It appears you’ve become fast friends with fellow Ghanaian Kofi Opare. SI: We were friends before. We speak the language. We make jokes. It’s better that I have someone like Kofi sometimes. I know his parents, and I know his family. I’m cool with him he’s quiet guy, good guy, and a hardworking player. The players in this team are more like family, so I’m excited to be here.

What have you learned from being a part of two World Cup teams? SI: I think it is a dream for every player to play in the World Cup. It is the highest level in football, and I think also that you need to show the whole world that this is you. This is Inkoom. I was so happy that at the age of 25, I’ve already played in two World Cups. It’s not easy playing in the Champions League or Europa League. I have a lot of experience to help D.C. United as well.

What should D.C. United fans expect from you on the field? SI: I play right back, right midfield. I’m used to attacking a lot. The most important think is we need achieve something for D.C. United, get the trophy in MLS and go further in the Champions League as well. With my teammates, I think we are going to achieve what we are here to achieve.
