South Africa-based Kwabena Adusei has been retained in Ghana’s squad for their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to injury to Kwadwo Asamoah, a local radio station has reported.

The Mpumalanga Black Aces defender had been excluded from the squad following the return of Turkey-based John Boye, a report on a local radio station has revealed.

But the unavailability of Juventus ace Asamoah who has been sidelined for two weeks due to an inflammation in his knee means he gets to stay with the squad to play Uganda and Togo this month.

Adusei’s Black Aces teammate and centre-back partner Edwin Gyimah will be listed as a midfielder by Ghana caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu paving way for his call-up.

The 2014 CHAN star was a member of the squad which played back-to-back games against Guinea last month but was unused.
