Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah suffered an infection on his knee after an operation which has delayed his return to Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 26-year-old was battling his way into full fitness after he suffered the setback two months ago.

He was expected to play for Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup but failed to recover in time for the global showpiece.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that the strong centre-back suffered an infection on his knee which has delayed his return to full fitness.

“He (Vorsah) had an infection that caused him problem again after the surgery,” Red Bull Salzburg manager Adolf Hütter

“He has cruciate ligament injury and it’s important to let it heal.

“It is also important to speak as a coach with him and give him confidence.

"The most important thing, however, remains that Isaac is quickly recovered and again has fun at the football”.

The Ghanaian international has neared full fitness and should be ready for the start of the Austrian League.

Newly-appointed manager Adolf Hutter has revealed he will not sell the towering centre-back.
