Inter Allies duo Abdul Fatawu Safiu and Lord Ofosuhene are on trial at Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers, Africanfootball.com has reported.

The two players practiced with the team on Friday at the Timbers' Beaverton training facility and that will continue for the next two to three weeks.

Ofosuhene, 20, is a striker-cum-winger who spent the last two years on the books with FC Porto, going on loan to the youth side of Portuguese side Rio Ave FC.

Safiu emerged nter Allies top scorer last season with seven goals in all competitions despite joining "Eleven Is To One" in January.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season with Swedish lower-division side Vimmerby IF.

"We hope they're good players so we end up wanting to keep them," Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter said.

"We are always looking for succession planning and these guys are young players and if they got some potential then we'll look at perhaps adding them...Maybe these are guys that sign with the first team, maybe these are guys that we plug in to the (Timbers II team) and develop and we bring along and eventually they end up being first team guys."
