Accra Hearts of Oak are planning a shocking move to sign Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda who is a free agent after leaving South African side Chippa United, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The Phobians have confirmed they need three new goalkeepers for the department and have signed two - Abdoulaye Soulama and Seidu Mutawakilu, leaving one slot available.

Hearts' recruitment team member Frank Nelson confirmed on Accra-based Happy FM, the former African champions are seeking to bring in three new goalkeepers, meaning they have a one slot more to fill.

Hearts have been chasing Aduana Stars keeper Stephen Adams but the the Fire Club are demanding an whooping $30K for the signature of the keeper.

GHANAsoccernet.com sources have revealed, news of Fatau's contract termination at Chippa United has alerted the Phobians are getting ready to contact the 2014 Ghana World Cup goalkeeper over a possible move.

Fatau is ready to join Hearts only if he will be guaranteed a starting place.

AshGold CEO Kudjo Fianoo has confirmed in an interview with Accra-based radio station - Happy FM, that the shot-stopper is on his way back at the club.

But Hearts' likely entrance into the race is set to leave the keeper divided over where he will play next.

Hearts are keen to put their goalkeeping issues to rest after a season's disappointment when Tetteh Luggard left fans reeling and sometimes booing from the stands.

However, the new competition at the club offer by Burkina Faso keeper Abdoulaye Soulama and Ghana U20 first choice Seidu Mutawakilu who both signed the Phobians in the past two weeks.
