Accra Hearts of Oak captain Moro Abubakar has completed his move to Serbian side Donji Srem on a three-year deal, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year-old passed medicals and was unveiled on Friday evening at a press conference by the club.

Abubakar signed the contract with the Serbian side on a free transfer after opting not to extend his expired contract with the Ghanaian giants.

Ghana's leading football news website www.ghanasoccernet.com exclusively revealed two weeks ago that the enforcer was on the verge of signing for the Serbian club which was denied by some members of Hearts.

Now Moro has been handed the number 50 jersey and is expected to start training with the club next week.

He is expected to make his debut in the Serbian Super Liga next weekend.

His contract with Hearts of Oak expired at the end of last season, making him a free agent, which means he will pocket the bulk sum of his six-figure transfer amount.

Abubakar's departure is a massive blow to the Phobians who expect a solid team to challenge for honours in the coming season.

They have been beaten to several players by their arch rivals Kotoko who are on the warpath of getting the best players in the league.

Hearts have not won the Ghana Premier League since 2009 and have had to endure the pain of watching their arch rivals Asante Kotoko dominate the domestic scene.
