GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal that Ghana striker Prince Tagoe has signed a short-term contract with Israeli second-tier side Hapoel Bnei Lod to save his faltering career.

The 28-year-old penned a deal on Thursday with an option for a renewal if he impresses at the end of the season.

He joins compatriot Lukman Imoro at the club.

GHANASoccernet.com understands Tagoe is expected to be ready for action next week when they host Ironi Tiberias.

Hapoel Bnei Lod, fourth on the league table after 13 matches, hope the vast experience of the 2010 FIFA World Cup star can help them secure promotion to the Israeli top-flight.

Tagoe has been available on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Malaysian top-flight side Kelantan, a club he signed for in April but had to leave in May this year.

His career has been on a downward spiral since leaving Serbian side Partizan Belgrade after a successful half-season loan spell which saw him score 12 goals in all competition as they won the league and Cup double.

The former Hoffenheim player was later transferred to Turkish side Bursaspor but had his contract terminated after two seasons which included a six-month loan spell with his former club Al Ettifaq of Saudi Arabia.

Tagoe, a former Hearts of Oak striker, won the Ghana Premier League goal king with 18 goals during the 2005 season.
