Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan is considering his future at German side 1860 Munich as he is frustrated over the lack of playing time with the second tier club, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Hearts of Oak enforcer signed for German Bundesliga II side 1860 Munich on a two-season-contract as a free agent as he sought to revive his career.

The 28-year-old joined the Munich based club during the winter break on the orders of the then head coach Markus Von Ahlen which sparked a lot of hope for the club too.

“With Toni Annan we have a player committed to producing good defensive play and bring stability to the team. Our emerging young players are now in training camp and he will help with his routine ball control and overview of the team players," 1860’s Sporting Director Gerhard Poschner said when Annan was signed.

However Von Ahlen was prematurely sacked by the club which has changed his fortunes of getting some playing time at the club.

Having played just five matches with only the match against St Pauli under new coach Torsten Fröhling has left the Ghanaian wondering what went wrong.

"I train well, I do not know what I'm doing wrong. It is not an easy situation for me, but I do not regret that I have come to Munich," Annan said.

Coach Torsten Fröhling (48), who used the little midfielder only against St. Pauli: "Anthony has to wait for his chance. Each week, the squad is shuffled."

With no playing time in sight, Annan will be seeking other opportunities where he could play more matches.

Annan joined the former Bundesliga giants after ending his season’s spell with Finnish giants HJK Helsinki where he helped them to win the league title and FA Cup.

Annan returnsed to Germany after playing for giants Schalke 04 last season but left to Finland at the expiration of his contract with the Royal Blues.

The midfielder, who is capped 64 times by Ghana, has had spells with Vitesse Arhen, Osasuna, Rosenborg BK and Schalke 04.
