Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah is expected to be back in first team action in a week’s time after undergoing successful surgery to fix a broken jaw on Friday.

The 27-year-old needed to go under the knife to permanently sort out the injury sustained while on international duty with the Black Stars.

The CD Mirandes goalkeeper despite playing in a protective mask on his return to his club from the international break, the surgery was deemed appropriate to ensure no hitches in his performance.

Brimah thus underwent an operation in a Spanish hospital on Friday and has since been discharged.

Doctors say he will require just seven days to return to full scale action with his club.

The ex FC Nania man was feared to be out for six weeks but this fear has been allayed by the doctors who operated on him on Friday.

This also means Brimah will be available for Ghana’s 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea next month.
