Ghana coach Avram Grant has chosen the Spanish city of Seville as the camping base for his team to prepare for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Chelsea manager has not explained his unpopular decision to camp in Europe where weather conditions are not similar to that of Mongomo, Ghana’s base in Equatorial Guinea for the tournament.

In the month of January, it is very cold in Seville at coldest at 52°F (11°C).

"The coach has had his request granted and the team will be based in the Spanish city of Seville,” Ghana FA Protocol Officer Alex Asante exclusively told GHANASoccernet.com

"The coach has connections there so he is making plans to play some games there that he will use to trim his side down."

The Ghana Football Association had wanted the team to in Abu Dhabi, UAE before the tournament.
