Ex-Star Odartey Lamptey wants Fatau Dauda retained in Ghana post

Posted On Tuesday, 22nd January 2013

Fatau Dawuda has been a revelation at the tournament

Ex-Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey wants Fatau Dauda to be maintained as first choice goalkeeper ahead of Thursday’s clash against Mali.

The former Anderlecht player was impressed with the performance of the AshantiGold shot-stopper during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with DR Congo.

Though, the 27-year-old conceded two goals, Lamptey believes the locally-based goalkeeper did more than enough to hold onto the number one position.

Fatau Dauda was excellent today [Sunday] and with such competitions you don’t change goalkeepers unless he is injured,” Lamptey said.

“Though [Adam] Kwarasey is playing in Europe, Fatau has a lot of experience from the local scene and for me personally I think he was fantastic in post and must be maintained.”

Am still not convince about this guy I think if he was a bit tall like Kwarasey he could have used his leg to blocked Tresor Mputu’s goal

    • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

      FATAU:
FATAU PLAYED WELL. HOWEVER, I WAS SUPRISED HE COULDT READ THE BODY LANGUAGE OF THE DR CONGO PENALY KICK TAKER.
Mbonkan LOOKED OVER TO HIS LEFT 3 TIMES BEFORE HE TOOK THE PENALTY. SO U HAVE TO KNOW THAT HE WILL SHOOT RIGHT, AND HE DID.
FATAU MUST LOOK FOR SUCH BODY LANGUAGE SIGNS AND HE MUST KEEP HIS EYE ON THE BALL. IF U CANT SEE THE BALL, U CANT GRAB IT.

  2. Askantwi says:

This Odartey fool should keep his mouth shut. Always want to tell AA what to do. Trying to force his hand. Kwarassey should have kept the post. That experience Dauda should not be trusted.

  3. yurigagarin says:

i aggree with 100% he shd ve blook mutu,s goal………why u guys re all doing these to kwara…….let for get about marketing nd change him……..appiah must change him……if every coach want to be using a mere friendlies to be changing their goakeppers then joe hurt, david gea, szcyney, pepe reina nd the rest will not even adopt to epl or perhaps they hate kwarasey……no serious coach in d@ these tornny ve change their fist inrespective which ever eros he committed in any friendly……..he will only

  4. African Consciousness says:

Kwarasay will still be the number one in the future the Coach had no choice but to drop him for Dauda since he had some lay off from active competition because the Swedish league ended their season early and Dauda was still active from the Ghana league and looked sharper going into the tournament. Things will be different come World Cup qualifying especially if Adam gets to play in the EPL.

  5. yurigagarin says:

hoooo kwarassey doesnt ply his trade in sweden…….is norway but their is not over just have winter break nd even d@ has no basic for stupid appiah shd drop him nd is more competive dan ur so call glo premire league………if appiah had known he shd ve drop him b4 the tornny…..all d@ he want to do is to emmbarass him…….nonse

  6. jakuman says:

From Quincy Owusu Abeyie to KPB then Andre Ayew to Dede Ayew. Now it is the turn of Adam Kwarasey who swore to high heavens that he will only play for Ghana and dealt with the FIFA by himself as much as possible. How long did it take to register him? What have all these people got in common. You guess right. They are diasporian Black Star players. What the hell is happening. Kwesi Nyantekyi should take note that there is a bad message being sent out to all those out there who were born abroad. Who is next. One can drive coaches and horses through all the excuses being given for the bad treatment to all the above diasporian Black Star players. We are watching, out of frustration. They are Ghanaians as much as me and you.
