Ex-Ghana striker Augustine Arhinful has endorsed the electronic payment of bonuses for Black Stars players during competition.

Ghana’s World Cup campaign was marred by news of flying $ 3 million to pay disgruntled players who had threatened to boycott the final Group G against Portugal.

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi revealed flying money to pay players during tournaments was not novel but admitted there was the need to review the mode of payment going forward.

Arhinful has backed the decision to move away from the physical cash payment.

“In this modern era, I think we should do electronic system, because it is best form. But per diems and allowances should be paid in cash because the players will need to make some purchases with cash whilst at competitions.” Arhinful said when he appeared at the Commission of Inquiry.
