Former Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah feels he was the sacrificial lamb for Ghana's 2014 World Cup fiasco.Â
He was accused of being behind the poor travel arrangement of fans to Brazil which left many stranded at airport and awarding shady contracts to friends.
One of the high points of his testimonies to the Commission of Inquiry was when he shed tears after revealing protesting Black Stars players did not train for two sessions ahead of the final group game against Portugal.
Afriyie-Ankrah insists his hands are clean and cannot be blamed for the shameful and disappointment campaign in Brazil.
"When there are tournaments, naturally people are excited. There is so much expectation and when we go and we don't do well ,then we are all looking for somebody's blood," he said.
"It's normal and so I had to be sacrificed. It's normal.
"I think that we should support the new Minister. He is very capable. I have full confidence in him and his capabilities."
The Justice Dzamefe-led commission is expected to present its finding and recommendations to Ghana President John Dramani Mahama.
