Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwadwo Poku has signed a short-term contract with Danish Division One side Skive IK.

The 26-year-old has had his potential-filled career blighted with a series of injuries and is looking to revive his fortunes with an eight-month contract with Skive.

Poku is looking to use the opportunity to prove his fitness upon which he will be angling for a move to topflight clubs in Europe.

“I can confirm I have signed a short-term contract with Skive,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“Officials of the club want to access my fitness thus the short duration of the contract.

“I am personally looking to use this chance to prove my fitness and then look to move to top clubs.

“It is not all over for me in football though I have had a difficult career but hopefully this move will be the beginning of greater things to come.”

Poku has won nine caps for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars during which period he scored twice.
