Former Hearts of Oak striker Ishmael Addo says winning the CAF Champions League 14 years ago is the best moment of his career and says the squad was one of the best assembled on the continent.

Hearts shock off two previous disappointments of losing finals in 1977 and 1979 to win emphatically in what turned out to be an emotional final with goals from Emmanuel Osei Kuffour and Ishmael Addo.

The Phobians have since struggled to hit such soaring heights in recent times.

But Addo, who played a huge role in the chalking the success, has defined the moment as the best of his career.

“Winning the Champions league was obvious the best moment of my career,” Addo told GHANASoccernet.com

“We are an incredible squad which complimented each other in a perfect way.

“We fought for ourselves and we were like a family, winning added relieve but we even won matches even before we played the games.

“By far one of the best teams that have been put up in the entire continent.”
