Amankwa Mireku has been linked with a re-union with Hearts
By Patrick Akoto
Defender Yaw Amankwah Mireku is considering staging a comeback to the domestic scene after a three-year absence.
The former Hearts of Oak great has returned to the country after unsuccessful spell with clubs abroad.
Reports claim the 32-year-old is keen to re-launch his career by signing for one of the Premier league sides.
Hearts have been linked with a re-union withMireku with coach CK Akunnor is determined to blend experience with youthful exuberance.
The former Viva Kerala and All Stars defender enjoyed an amazing 10-year spell with the capital-based side where he helped the club clinch their fist ever CAF Champions League crown in 2000.
How can u be interested in such players? Let the old rest and give chance to the youth. Mireku has passed his prime and shd be considering coaching
He is almost CK’s age….. This is a time to bring up new talent…. We already have Laryea and Sammy Adjei so enough with the Legends… Let them rest!!!
this report is bogus. I watched and listened to interview on joysports channel on multitv. Amankwa said he is in the mexican lower league and made his intention to relaunch his career in the glo pre league but never mentioned hearts of oak.
but is the Joy/Multi interviews the only interviews he has granted? GSN may also have interviewed him.
Kassbak, it is not mentioned anywhere in this piece that “he has mentioned Hearts of Oak”. Its rather a speculation being made here. Please read the fourth paragraph “Hearts have been linked with a re-union with Mireku”. I actually hope he is recruited then may be others like Jacob Nettey, Ishmael Addo, Osei Kuffuor, Edmund Copson, Stephen Tetteh, Charles Allotey, Adjogu, Joe Ansah etc can also be brought on board to add more depth for the Phobians…
Soon Abedi Pele will re-launch his career too. What a funny waste of space. This guy should just retire for good.
