Ex Ghana President John Kuffour is the latest to confirm his attendance to the funeral of deceased mother of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.

Cecelia Love Amoako will be laid to rest this weekend following her untimely death in a car crash last November.

The 60-year-old will be buried at her hometown in Mamponteng on Saturday in a star-studded ceremony which begins from Friday all the way through to Sunday.

Ghana President John Mahama is top of the list of a highly powered government delegation expected to attend the service this weekend.

Ex President John Kuffour who became friends with Asamoah Gyan in Ghana’s struggled for a maiden World cup qualification in 2006 has also confirmed his attendance.

Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjahoe alongside several Members of Parliament will also mourn with the Gyan family at the final funeral rites.

Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the 2012 general elections, Nana Akuffo-Addo and party big-wigs will also be in attendance.

Members from other political parties, a delegation from the Ghana FA, ex and current footballers, entertainment icons and fans will also be at the funeral grounds to pay their last respects.

A delegation from the Al Ain Football Club, where the Ghana captain plays his club football is expected to arrive in the country by Thursday for the ceremony.

Asamoah Gyan is the third Black Stars player within a year to have lost a parent.

Midfielder Anthony Annan and defender John Boye have all had the ordeal of dealing with the death of their mother and father respectively.
