Former Ghana midfielder Daniel Addo says he is at a loss as to why Andre Ayew decided to stay out of the Ghana’s AFCON squad.
The Olympique Marseille star, 23, failed to travel to Abu Dhabi to join Ghana’s pre-Nations Cup training base despite being released by Olympique Marseille.
Andre told Ghana team doctors he had to see his personal doctors before joining his international team-mates but Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah axed him from the squad.
Andre quickly joined Marseille’s camp in Morocco and featured for the French giants in their 3-1 defeat at Sochaux last Sunday.
And 1991 Fifa World U-17 World Cup winning midfielder Daniel Addo who is popularly known in Ghanaian football circles as ‘Darling Boy’ says he is yet to find out why Andre Ayew decided to snub Ghana.
“He is one of our finest players abroad now and he should have been there but I’m yet to find out why he decided not to join the team,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.
“If you go to Germany, France and other places people are asking why he is not part of the Ghana team.

I’ m shocked and disappointed – Dede Ayew
Ghana international Andre Ayew has disclosed he was shocked to have been left out of the Black Stars squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The left-footed player said although he is not angry about it, the news came as a big disappointment to him since he was committed to make it to South Africa, despite his hamstring injury.
Coach Kwesi Appiah excluded the Olympique Marseille winger from his final 23-man squad because he picked up an injury during training in France and failed to meet the reporting deadline in camp in Abu Dhabi.
However, the Fifa Under-20 World Cup winner has been explaining to French newspaper Le Phonceen that he had preferred to start treating his injury in France instead of a spot declaration which was made.
“On Sunday evening, I was taking the plane to the selection, but I got the information at the last minute as I was told by the coach not to come,” Ayew revealed.
“It was shocking. The coach based on the fact that he only wanted players [who are 100%], which is surprising because apparently there are a lot of casualties there.”
He added: “Discipline I speak of, but they were aware that I would be late, discipline. I gave everything for the selection, so it is not easy to accept.
“I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed. It made me know some people in the staff and federation.”
“Ghana is a big nation. There are things happening that are not normal, Kevin Prince Boateng issue shows that there are reasons,” Ayew added.
Why? Is darling Boy part of Ghana or he just came from Jupiter. Dede snubbed BS? Shocking. Somebody tell Darling Boy that Appiah sacked Dede for no reason. Now Dede is fit as a fiddle and the fit players (Obviously favourites) are battling with injuries. That is Appiah and nyantakyi’s logic.
e coach is a man full of false hopes ,he choses players according to how he happy he dreams about you when he sleeps.i think e coach should be axed from the team.

It is payback time for Akwasi Appiah. What Abedi Pele did to him, he is replicating it on his children.

This team is united and i believe the players are even happy this stupid boy did not join the team, there are equally good players in the team, who are even better than him. like father like son, what did his father did for the country? Whether Dede is there or not is not important now. All those there are also Ghanaians and we need to support them. I have always supported the Ayews from father to kids but what do we always get from them? Disappointment. If Dede had thought about the number of Ghanaians he was disappointing when he took whatever decision he took, maybe he would have reconsidered. But he thought about only himself so why shld we support him now? When the BS coach dropped him, he did not stay in Franch to continue to see his doctor but he travelled to Morocco to join his team. But this same Dede was telling the BS that he had to stay in France to see his personal doctor. This tells me he was not ready to join the BS. The coach also had a decision to take and he took the right one at the time. Whether we win or not without Dede is not the point now. We need to support those who are willing to die for the country.
