Former Ghana goalkeeper Ali Jahra has backed Fatau Dauda to recover from recent criticism over his performance.

The Chippa United shot-stopper lost his position to Stephen Adams during the second game of the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo on Wednesday.

He paid the prize heavily for his poor display against Uganda at the Baba Yara stadium.

The position of the former Orlando Pirates shot-stopper is under threat with Stephen Adams growing in confidence.

However, former Ghana Undr-17 goalkeeper Ali Jahra has backed the ex-Ashantigold glovesman to return to his best.

"I didn't see the mistakes that Fatau Dauda did that we should criticize him. He is human and he might commit mistakes, but it shouldn't be used as a yardstick in judging him," Ali Jaara said.

“There is too much pressure on the team as a whole after the world cup; they only need the support of the fans to regain their form.”
