Ex Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie

Ben Koufie has urged coaches to be persistent in seeking further education to enhance their quality.

The ex Ghana FA boss gave this advice during the launch of his book ‘Principles of Modern Soccer Coaching’.

The book is to serve as a coaching manual which focuses on a wide range of coaching skills put together by the former player, coach and administrator over a ten year period.

The 80-year-old during the book launch at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Thursday adviced coaches to be steadfast in the pursuit to enhance their knowledge of the game.

“I would like to advice my fellow coaches to be indoctrinated, we have to go to school to be able to reach the level that is expected of the profession,” Koufie said.

“Our football must be accepted as the best if not the best in the World.

“We still have a long way to go, we need to move much faster than we are and this can only be achieved through constant updating of a coach.”

Renowned businessman Kofi Amoah bought the first copy of the book for a staggering Ghc 10,000 with Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi following up with Ghc 5000.

Other prominent personalities also made several pledges for the initial copies of the ‘legacy’ signed by the author Ben Koufie.
