Tony Baffoe feels the timing for the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah as Ghana coach is wrong.

Appiah was sacked three weeks ago by the Ghana FA in the aftermath of the Black Stars disastrous World Cup campaign in Brazil.

The decision to dispense with Appiah services has been met with mixed reactions with the ex-Ghana defender waging into the debate.

The former FC Köln and OGC Nice defender feels the timing of Appiah’s dismissal is weak.

“I think the timing of his dismissal is the problem. He had won a game and drawn one, picking four out of six games and so it was a bit surprise to me,” he said

“We are in the middle of a qualifying campaign and so it was wrong.

“But the FA said he was sacked based on other reasons. They are in charge and so they may have other reasons that we may not be aware.

“But I will kick against the decision to sack a local man, be it a former player or not. We need to instill confidence in our local people.”

Appiah’s assistant Maxwell Konadu has been appointed in an interim basis to supervise the double header against Guinea.
