Ex Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has wished the Black Stars the best of luck in their upcoming campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Black Stars captain is currently in Sudan to negotiate a deal to become the new coach of Al Khartoum Sporting Club.

Appiah was fired as coach of Ghana back in September but remains an ardent fan of the side.

The 54-year-old is willing the team to go on to become successful at the next AFCON to be staged in Equatorial Guinea following their successful qualification.

“I want to congratulate the team for their qualification for the [2015] Nations Cup,” he said.

“I wish the team the best of luck too.”

Appiah’s former deputy, Maxwell Konadu led the team to qualify for the Nations Cup following his departure in September.

The team went on to win twice, drew one and lost one in the four qualifying games presided over by Konadu.
