Former Ghana coach Giuseppe Dossena has joined the race to become the next coach of the country’s national team.

The Italian who left the Black Stars under controversial circumstances wants a reunion with the team following the departure of Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac and has subsequently forwarded his CV to the Ghana Football Association.

Dossena was in charge when Ghana managed only a quarter-final berth when the country co-hosted the African Nation’s cup with Nigeria in 2000.

The 52-year-old former Torino and Sampdoria midfielder wants another stint with Ghana football as the number of coaches who have applied for the vacant job continue to increase by the minutes.

Sources say over 100 coaches have applied for the job eve even though the GFA has not invited applications for the vacant position.

Dossena joins the likes of Marcel Desailly, Juande Ramos, Lucien Favre and Gianfranco Zola among others who have applied for the job.

The Ghana Football Association says they will not be pressured in naming a substantive coach for the Black Stars.

The Black Stars were held to a shocking 0-0 drawn game at home by Sudan and tackle Congo in their next fixture next year March.
