Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah will scout for the Black Stars coach for the 2014 World Cup finals.

The former Juventus and Fenerbahce star has revealed he has been contacted by national team coach Kwesi Appiah to spy on their opponents.

Ghana will face USA, Portugal and Germany at the finals in Brazil this June.

Appiah, who captained Ghana at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and played a cameo at the last finals in South Africa, is delighted to assist the technical team.

“Kwesi Appiah called and talked to me on his intention to let me scout for Ghana ahead of the World Cup in June,” Appiah is quoted by Metro FM.

“I think it is a great opportunity given me by the head coach and I am grateful for that.”

“When you are given the chance to do what you can do, you make the best out of the opportunity.

“It is the right call, because when you go to countries like Nigeria they make good use of their former players like Kanu, Okocha, likewise Cameroon making good use of Rigobert Song.”
