Ex-Ghana captain John Mensah visited the Black Stars training on Sunday to boost their morale with gifts ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup playoff against Egypt.
The former Rennes defender presented some t-shirts and caps to the Black Stars before encouraging them to go out for victory against the Pharaohs.
“I have come here this morning to meet and greet you for the wonderful job you are doing for the country,” Mensah said after presenting the gifts to the players.
“I have the confidence that they will beat the Egypt and this is my small token to boost your confidence for the match.”
Mensah was seen chatting with all the players including captain Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien and other young players in the squad before the presentation.
Gyan, the current Black Stars captain, assured Mensah they are ready to go out for victory against the Pharaohs.
“To see you (Mensah) is a big boost for us as we know likes every Ghanaian you are supporting us to victory,” Gyan said.
“We will make sure we will make all Ghanaians happy and thanks very much for your very kind gesture.”
