Ex-Ghana captain C.K Akunnor is confident that the team will qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations despite a not so convincing start in the qualifiers.

The Black Stars played out a bore 1-1 draw with Uganda at home before a topsy-turvy 3-2 win over neighbours Togo in Lome.

There are fears the unexpected dismissal of head coach Kwesi Appiah can affect the team’s campaign.

But Akunnor says the team has what it takes to get the desired results in the remaining four matches.

“They are all professionals and they understand that in football coaches come and go,” the former Wolfsburg captain told GHANASoccernet.com

“It’s true that most of the guys in the team now came in through Appiah but they are professionals and will have to work to the utmost fullest whenever they put on the colours and that should be enough to qualify the team.

“I have no doubt that the team will be gunning for the tittle next year in Morocco.”
