Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has dismissed reports he intends calling it quit on a glittering career when his contract expires at FK Vojvodina.
The 31-year old is enjoying his time in the Serbian top-flight since he joined the Eastern European outfit last February.
He has been at his breathtaking best but news of a purported intention to retire from the game has emerged in the Ghanaian media.
Reports had claimed the former Juventus and Fenerbache enforcer was considering hanging his boot when his six-month deal expires to concentrate on other offers on the table for him.
But the ever-smiling and affable former Ghana skipper has rubbished the reports insisting he still has a lot to offer in the game.
“I have never spoken to anybody about any retirement plans so it baffles me as to how those rumours came about in the first place,” Appiah said.
“I will hang my boots at the appropriate time but it’s certainly not now so I urge everybody to treat such rumours with a pinch of salt.”

Our greatest skipper ever. We love you n also praying for you. Ghanaians and our media can easily retire players. Plse dont mind them, continue to do what you love.
You brought a lot of unity to the black stars camp and discipline but not what we see and hear today. Realn Capito. Real gem.
Ehh ghanaians n their media tok 2 much great appiah dot mine them do ur great work but we have missed you we are praying

TORNADO..CARRY ON . YOU ARE STILL STRONG AND BETTER THAN MOST PLAYERS …WE LOVE YOU. KEEP ON PLAYING… WE LOVE YOU ..CAPITO
We need this man – Stephen Appiah in the Black Stars camp not as a player but play a similar role to what Beckham did for England at the 2010 World Cup.
CAPITO, we missed u.GREAT LEGEND of Ghana!!!
Stephen, do ur own thing, shame on to them, God will punish thier anus one, one, and they will not go to toilet again. we like u soo much, now u were out in the game there’s no respect in the black star team, but i hope ur soul name will change everything now, the is serious. GO ALL OUT APPIAH WE SUPPORT U.
I think we are better of giving the Black Stars to Stephen Appiah than Akwasi Appiah. Though he has played any as the head coach, I dnt believe he can do it. I saw how he managed the players during the Ghana and Sudan match @ ksi. Though he was standing throghout the game, he impact as the manager was not seen on the game
there is and shall be only one capitano of the ghana blackstars. your absemce has caused disunity once again in the camp. i salute man. FORZA TONARDO
Appiah we love u so much for the patriotic way u served Ghana.U DESERVE A NATIONAL AWARD.
appiah shd not listen to anyone
