Ex-Dutch midfielder George Boateng confirms he is coming for Essien's Game of Hope
George Boateng says he will play in Michael Essien's Game of Hope.

Ex-Dutch midfielder George Boateng has confirmed he will play in next Saturday's Michael Essien Game of Hope Charity match in Accra.

Boateng will be among a host of retired and active stars expected in the country this week for the match.

Ricardo Carvalho, Luka Modric, Djibril Cisse and others have confirmed their participation.

"It is a great honour to be part of this event because there is no better way than to give to those who are less fortunate," the former Middlesbrough captain told Accra-based Citi FM

"It is a great way to boost the profile of the Foundation and it brings a lot of attention to the issues the Charity is trying to address. It also shows how much Essien is driving the agenda to help the society."

This year's Charity match will be the second to be organised by the Michael Essien Foundation.
