2010 Ghana World Cup third-choice Stephen Ahorlu has sensationally compared his age to out-of-favour Richard Kingson and insisted he is far away from retirement from football.

Ahorlu was given the stick by Heart of Lions fans after he allowed in a cheap goal in their 1-0 loss to Liberty Professionals in a Ghana Premier League game on Sunday.

Despite being just 25, pressure is mounting on the keeper to quit football after a string of poor performances.

But the former Medeama keeper explains he started playing top-flight football at a younger age and he is still a young keeper.

"What about Richard Kingson? He is still playing. I just started football early that's how come people think I'm old," he told Oman FM.

Ahorlu returned to Lions from Medeama at the start of the season after failing to shine at the club.

He also had an unsuccessful spell with Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Ashkelon.
