FC Astra Giurgiu picked up their first win in UEFA Europa League Group D thanks to Sadat Bukari's 50th-minute strike as the Romanian side climbed above GNK Dinamo Zagreb while Gideon Baah scored a crucial opener for HJK Helsinki. 

Though Sadat had wasted a barrage a glaring chances in the course of the game, he took the chance when he dive-headed a cross from the right to claim the points for his side with his fellow Ghanaian Seidu Yahaya in action in midfield.

Former Asante Kotoko defender Gideon Baah brightened HJK Helsinki's chances of progress after he scored the opener in their 2-1 win over FC Copenhagen. While Baah was in full time action, former Schalke 04 midfielder Anthony Annan was not in the HJK squad for the game.

In action for Copenhagen was Daniel Amartey who played full throttle and Danny Amankwaa was also in action for the Danish side.

Dutch side Feyenoord Rotterdam ensured their place in the round of 32 after beating Spanish La Liga side Sevilla 2-0 at the Stadion Feijenoord.

In other games, Everton sealed their place after beating German Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg 2-0 at their own backyard. Winger Christian Atsu came off the bench in the 83rd minute to play for Everton.

Youngster Isaac Donkor was not in the Inter Milan team that won 2-1 against Ukrainian side FC Dnipro to advance.

Winger Wakaso Mubarak watched from the stands as his Celtic side slipped to a 3-1 home loss against Austrian side Red Bulls Salzburg.

Belgian side Lokeren managed to beat Polish side Legia Warszawa to boost their chances of progress. Belgian-born Denis Odoi was in full time action for Lokeren but youngster Eugene Ansah was out of the game.

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris played 89 minutes for Turkish side Trabzonspor but failed to score as they beat Ukrainian side Metalist 3-1.

In other games, former Hearts of Oak attacker Samuel Afum was introduced in the 63rd minute by Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys who posted a 3-1 away win over Slovan Bratislava.

Youngster Emmanuel Boateng played 61 minutes for Portuguese side Rio Ave who lost 2-0 at Dynamo Kyiv. Alhassan Wakaso was not in action for Rio.
