Essien named in Real squad to face Man City in Champions League

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has been selected for Real Madrid’s Champions League game against Manchester City.

The 27-year-old was named in a provisional 20-man squad to face the English champions on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This means the former Olympique Lyon player who is on-loan from Chelsea could be making his Real Madrid debut against The Citizens after completing his transfer deadline day switch.

Essien was an unused substitute in Los Blancos’ disappointing defeat to Seville last Saturday.

Comments made by manager Jose Mourinho following that defeat suggests he could be making changes to his starting lineup which could be in favour of the Ghana international.

Essien is looking to regain his spark which earned him the reputation of one of the finest midfielders of his kind in World football.

    @COLL,
    You know why you never cite wikipedia as a source? It is because anyone at all can go there and add content to it. It is an open source. So please don’t display you ignorance when the whole world is watching. Next time site a credible source. And that way you can hit your chest and say ‘i have found a lapse in the article’.

    • COLL says:

      @ WUT,
      POOR BOY, GO BACK AND READ YOUR COMMENT AGAIN. MISTAKES THROUGH OUT. AM TRYING TO TELL GSN TO EMPLOY GOOD JOURNALIST TO EDIT THEIR NEWS FOR THEM SO THAT STUPID PEOPLE LIKE YOU WILL GET JOB TO DO

        @ COl
        I guess you’re are still displaying your ignorance that you never cite Wikipedia as a source. What part don’t you get………. Cite a different website even if you claim you information on Wikipedia is correct. I wonder how you pass your exams ,,,,,,,,,, I guess you are among the people who just like to plagiarise. You cup will be full very soon.

    @wut

    but coll is right though Essien is 29 so what are you talking about GSN is wrong and he was right to correct them, so maybe you should get your facts right. Peace and Love..

      @ Nana
      And you too, what are you talking about? Play your mouth where it is due. People like you hide behind the like button and always press ‘like’ or dislike’. We are talking about citing credible sources and not wikipedia. So just don’t display your ignorance. If you don’t have anything to say, just “keep quite and suffer”.

  6. BoscoGh says:

    Hopes he plays.

    As for Real Madrid the earlier they do something about Higuain (or whatever his name is ) the better

  7. General$ says:
