Espanyol manager Javier Aguirre admits he’s struggling to find a replacement for Ghanaian winger Mubarak Wakaso.
The 23-year-old left the Spanish side after just a season to join Russian side Rubin Kazan for a reported fee of six million euros.
His move to the Kazan was was met with stiff opposition from his Spanish club and their Mexican trainer has admitted he’s struggling to find his replacement.
“It is very difficult to find a replacement for a great player like Wakaso but we are still looking into the market for good players who are on free transfer to sign,” Aguirre said
“We have missed out on Bruma Gama who has moved to Ukraine and a couple of other players.”
Wakaso played a part in Ghana’s 2-1 win over Zambia to secure their spot in the final play-offs.
