Bekoe's move to rejoin Kotoko collapses

Eric Bekoe’s proposed move to Asante Kotoko has completely fallen through, a source has confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com.

The 25-year-old has been part of Kotoko’s pre-season camping haven initially agreed in principle to rejoin the champions after canceling his contract with Egyptian club Petrojet.

Negotiations to seal his return to the Kumasi-based club however took a strange turn with disputes over his contract duration and the money involved.

And by Premier League player registration deadline day on Friday, the former Ghana goal king had not been duly registered by the Porcupine Warriors – giving credence to the source’s revelation to GHANAsoccernet.com.

Bekoe can however still feature in the Premier League this term as he qualifies to be registered under special dispensation since he is a returning foreign player.

The ex Heart of Lions hitman still maintains his love for the club that provided him the platform for an eventual lucrative deal with Petrojet.

“Please Kotoko fans should be careful with statement they make on this issue because is very complicated,” he said in a statement.

“I love the team and the fans that’s why I’ve kept my cool and not granting interviews.

“Because I can’t wash my dirty cloths outside. Kotoko mean a lot to me and Kotoko is my family. Thanks to u all.”

  1. Fresher says:

All our blames and condemnations for the failure to tie down Eric Bekoe by Kotoko should be directed at these two arrogant elements in Kotoko, they are, Ben Nti and listowel Yesu Bukarson. These two guys are by their misdeeds and arrogance creating a wedge among Kotoko’s faithfuls. The earlier we Kotoko faithfuls start lobbying and calling for the removal of these two cancerous guys from Kotoko the better. If we could observe, these guys are almost involved in every undesirable development in Kotoko. They are I must say, are like some kind of bad air polluting the prevailing serenity in Kotoko.

  2. Kotokovski says:

I totally disagree with you Fresher.Years after years kotoko fans find faults with one management member or the other, reacting in just the same manner you are calling on others to follow. At the end,we come back to face the same thing.Good or bad,why cant you just leave them to take whatever decision and judge them by the results they churn out. Here you are referring to them with their names but you forget to add in what capacity they act as if they can just as any ordinary person wake up from their beds and start calling shots. They are management members for Christ sake.It is their duty to take decisions. You as a supporter can only live up to your name as a supporter while you pray things work out.You are probably one of the people who also support European clubs and express concerns over decisions taken by your club’s manager by screaming your lung out millions of miles away in Ghana yet you state everywhere just how proud you are of your team forgetting that it is the same decisions-good or bad that has culminated into whatever current image your club has.Bekoe couldn’t have just joined kotoko on preseason. He was there because these same people you accuse wanted him with the club.Things changed by no fault of kotoko and just because Bekoe loves kotoko or you love Bekoe more than anyone else,he should be signed at all cost.Dont worry one day you can make decisions based on love and emotions when you become a club’s head.fabu till i die!

  3. Francis says:

Kotoko is the most ungrateful club in the world. No wonder they are just a bunch of illiterates and concert people. How could you treat Bekoe that way!! Oh kotoko you are so primitive!

  4. Pls we need bekoe vry much so do ur best.

  5. Gyasi says:

@ francis, ur wretched harlotic mother and ur intoxicable father can best qualify 4 all de insulting adjectives u rein on de champion club.i fervently believe u were born out of a mums maggot infested vagina thats why u could churn out such idiotic comments abt kotoko. Such thoughtless thinking of urs is only symbolic where u hail 4rm. Nincompoop and ur shabby dumb parents are 2 blamed for having illegal indiscriminate intercourse yielding such a thwart who can only be described as an inferior being will no self actualization and lowly rated human, long live FABU and demise and ,misfortunes bigots all its haters
