Striker Eric Bekoe is looking forward to prove his worth in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

The 25-year-old completed a two-year deal to Berekum Chelsea as a free agent on Tuesday after days of intense speculations surrounding his future.

The former Perojet man saw his hugely publicized move to Ghanaian champions Kotoko crushing at the eleventh hour over contractual disagreements.

The former Heart of Lions and Liberty Professionals man has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by the Berekum-based side in given him a lifeline.

“I am motivated to play for Berekum Chelsea because I want to prove my critics wrong,” Bekoe said

“I believe I will survive. Because I played at a difficult place like Egypt and survived and so don’t see why I can’t survive in my own country.

“Coming back home is refreshing for me. I have played here before and made the mark.

“I will return to my best and make the fans happy. I will make them happy and let them enjoy football.”

The 2007  Ghana Premier League goal king will be expected to form a strong attacking partnership with diminutive Latif Salifu.

sad that uor deal with kotoko couldnt materialise but all de same we wish u good luck @ b.chelsea. kotoko fans shud understand the stance taken by our mgt cos they knew wat was gud n went by it,let all back them in our quest for laurels this yr n beyond, for the materials @ hand if managed well can go places,if a team has forwards like s.bancey, nti boakye,b.acheampong, awudu nafiu ably supported by helegbe, akuffo, mpong, issa yakubu, nii adjei, anaba,p.baffoe with barriers like adusei, rashid sumaila, ohene brenya, yaw frimpong, soulama n the likes, team kotoko will surely b a team to reckon with home or abroad.players shd b mindful of our resolve to work as a team n not dat we have the men with names so that would do the magic for us, nooooooo!obuasi Goldfields stormed ghana soccer n did wat no team in ghana apart from kotoko n hearts did thus, qualifying for the grand finale of the champions league in 97 or 98[i stand for correction though]n they achieved this feat by buying the creme de la creme players of ghana soccer, talk of adjetey lee, annor azziz, tony tieku, atta koffi, augustine n tony arhinful,ck akunnor, kasola dacosta, nimbombe wakey, kossi noutsoujie, kone ibrahimma, yaw owusu, sammy n lawrence adjei, joe okyere, kamara dini n a host of other gud players n this trend got replicated by heart of lions ,liberty n of late b. chelsea,so team kotoko shud really work hard to justify the confidence we fans had entrusted in them, kudos KK n his team.

  3. Kwame says:

What is the big deal about Eric joining Chelsea. Its not a news because Kotoko now have a lot of strikers including Ransford Osei,Kofi Nti Boakye so we are ok.Eric cannot play alone so we have to wish him well.after all he has not tasted any serious football apart from Egypt.Ransford has tasted big time football.Do you think Dr will let an oppoutunity like Eric slip by may be he has seen that it is waste of time on a player who was injured in Egypt for almost one year .
