Injured Eric Bekoe will undergo a reconstructive surgery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Monday to remove a metal in his leg, the player has confirmed.
Bekoe had a metal pin used to provide support to his leg after a horrible injury in August last year before the start of the new season.
The 27-year-old, who has criticized his club of neglecting him during his injury, is being made to foot the bills.
ââ¬ÅI should have done the surgery today (Monday). They would take off the metal so that I can start playing actively,ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ Bekoe told Accra-based Power FM.
ââ¬ÅYesterday, I tried playing about 45 minutes and I felt no pain. The surgery will be on Monday, which is todayââ¬â¢s week.ââ¬
Bekoe was preparing to fly out to Finland for a trial when he suffered the career-threatening injury.
He scored 17 goals in 23 games in the 2007/2008 season to emerge goal king.
